On July 20, 2006, Stonewall Libertarians (founded on June 27, 2006) and Rebel Republicans
(founded on April 20, 1996) merged, forming a new organization both groups agreed would be
called Stonewall Libertarians.

The terms of the merger agreement were as follows:

•   Stonewall Libertarians agrees to continue to welcome all G.L.B.T. and gay-friendly
individuals who believe in equality, diversity and tolerance, permitting everyone, regardless of
their self-proclaimed sexual orientation or gender identity to serve in all leadership positions
open to election.

•    Rebel Republicans, that has fought for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender rights since
April 20, 1996, and Stonewall Libertarians, founded on June 27, 2006, will merge effective July
20, 2006. The new merged entity shall use the name Stonewall Libertarians and will use the
founding date of April 20, 1996. Dr. Tom Stevens, Stonewall Veteran, founded both
organizations.

•     Rebel Republicans will receive no leadership positions and no guaranteed memberships.
Stonewall Libertarians has made no promise to adopt any portion of the National Platform used
and promoted by the Rebel Republicans. The small amount of funds present in the Rebel
Republicans bank account will be turned over to the Stonewall Libertarians.

•     Stonewall Libertarians agrees to feature a link on its website making reference to
organizations and groups that have merged into or with Stonewall Libertarians. An appropriate
tribute to the efforts of the Rebel Republicans to reform the Republican Party and a reference
to the merger will be placed on the website of Stonewall Libertarians.

Rebel Republicans, a group of libertarian Republican Party members, was formed on April 20,
1996 to reform the Republican Party from within by pushing its own alternative National
Platform and by running its members for party and elective office to move the Republican Party
in a more libertarian direction. After working hard for over 11 years, the leadership of Rebel
Republicans reached the conclusion they were further away from their goal than when they
started. The reason, as they understood it, was that given the two party system, the Republican
Party and its leadership must not only move toward the center of the political spectrum but they
must try to encroach upon the territory of the Democrats to ensure their electoral success. In
addition, the Republican Party is being increasingly influenced by social conservatives willing to
use the government to enforce their own particular view of morality. As a result, efforts to move
the Republican Party in a more libertarian direction are doomed to fail. This is why the
leadership of Rebel Republicans voted to merge with Stonewall Libertarians to form a single
organization to fight for smaller government, lower taxes and more individual liberty.
